Oakland A’s raise $24,000 for Diabetes Research

Root beer floats are a quintessential part of American history, almost as much as baseball is. The sport commonly hailed as America’s pastime has always played a major part in our history, from the waves the first black player made to when an all women’s league began in the wake of war. Even today, teams like the Oakland A’s do what they can to help causes vital all around the United States.

The Oakland A’s came out to sell root beer floats to fans alongside local media personalities two hours before Wednesday, June 20th’s game. Baseball fans came out in droves to enjoy MUG root beer and Orange Crush floats, all to benefit Children’s Diabetes research. Causes like this do more than just benefit a worthy cause, it brings the baseball fanatic community together.

Events like these give everyone a chance to participate in a worthwhile cause. It’s hard to make a small donation count, but at socials like these, not only do many people come together to make a difference, but they get the community and experience of being together.
