The Manhattan Penthouse and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training have joined forces this spring to present the first annual “Charity Poker Showdown.” The event will take place on Sunday, March 3rd, from 2-8 PM at the Manhattan Penthouse on Fifth Avenue. The tournament will be high-stakes and the buy-ins at tables will be $150 each.
And the tournament’s not just for card junkies, either. Others who want to support the philanthropic venture can attend as well. The event’s website reads,
“Don’t want to ante-up for the tournament? Join the fun at our “party brunch” with access to the open bar, good grub and spins of DJ Neil Jackson with a chance to enter and win a variety of raffle prizes. For $55, this will be the most fun you’ll have that week, and you’ll help LLS move closer to finding a cure for blood cancers!”
Of course, the grand prize for the poker tournament is nothing to sniff at, either. It includes two round trip tickets from NYC to Las Vegas, a two-night hotel stay, two tickets to Beatles Love Cirque Du Soleil Insider Access and a helicopter tour for two over the Grand Canyon. Other prizes for top competitors include a trip for two to Miami, a Paradigm Millenia Home Theater System, and a variety of other raffle and door prizes.
Those interested in registering for the poker tournament or brunch may do so on the Charity Poker Showdown website. All those who attend will be given access to the open bar and provided catering by Green Mansions Catering.
