Hey breast cancer, we’ve got your number. You’re going down. There are organizations around the world ready to fight you and take you on. Look out, because these groups are bad-ass, and they’re going to kick your butt.
Who says you can’t be tough and still wear pink? BareMinerals has teamed up with the Keep a Breast Foundation to give back to the cause. They have designed a “Power Pack” of products that happens to be all in pink. Yet, these pink products, like the pink ribbon, represent the fight to end breast cancer. And women everywhere should be proud to represent that.
For every purchase made, the company donates a portion of the proceeds to the Keep a Breast Foundation to combat breast cancer. And with the holidays coming up, there’s no reason why women and men can’t contribute.
More and more companies are looking for ways to help out. This could be for the benefit of the planet or for human beings. It’s a heartwarming feeling to see how so many companies are reaching out. Cancer is a disease that shows no discrimination over who is affected by it. Rich or poor, white or black, male or female, anyone can get cancer. And breast cancer is a growing epidemic.
Here are some stats:
- Besides skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among American women. It accounts for nearly 1 in 3 cases of cancers.
- Breast cancer isn’t unique to women—men can get it, too. It’s just not as common.
- Only lung cancer kills more American women.
- About 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime.
These statistics are unacceptable. Early detection is key, but not enough women are being checked or doing self-checks. It’s important that these organizations are seeking to educate men and women. It’s the only way to stop cancer.
As for the Keep a Breast Foundation, they are a nonprofit that works with young women in particular. They “host online forums, run educational programs and issue grants to individuals and organizations researching breast cancer prevention.”
Together with BareMinerals, Keep a Breast has put cancer on notice. Their goal is to eradicate cancer so nobody ever has to face it again.
